Unlike traditional instruments (guitars or pianos) singing bowls maintain their tuning for life, meaning they can’t lose their tune, and they can’t be tuned. When you buy a bowl, it’s important to look at the tuning to ensure that your bowls will sound good together!
Each note on the musical scale has 50 cents higher, sharp (+) and 50 cents lower, flat (-).
When you buy a bowl, the note will have either a negative (-) or positive (+) number next to it which tells you which tuning the bowl is in.
The tuning of Crystal Tones Alchemy Singing Bowls is based on the frequency of the 4th Octave A note.
Here are the 3 primary tunings you will see:
432Hz: The Universal Healing Frequency
-20 to -40 Cents
A Note = 432Hz
This slightly flat tuning is known as the frequency of nature, and people online will fight about how our world is out of tune since we stopped synchronizing our instruments to it. I say, we will live!440Hz: True Tone Musical Frequency
-10 to +10 Cents
A Note = 440Hz
This “true tone” tuning is what we tune modern instruments to in an orchestra, and modern music. If you’re someone who would like to play your bowls with a piano, harp, or guitar, this is the tuning for you!444Hz (or 528Hz) The Love Frequency
+10 to +30 Cents
A Note = 444Hz
This tuning is known as “The Love Frequency” because the high C note rings at 528Hz which is said to be the frequency of love. This slightly sharp tuning is said to bring us into connection with divine love.

Yes, if you want your bowls to sound their best together its best to stick to one range of tuning:
432: -20 to -40 cents
440: -10 to +10 cents
444/528: +10 to +30 cents
As you build on and buy more bowls, you’ll want to make sure to maintain the same cent range for the best sound.

It’s recommended that you stay within a 20 cent range so that your bowls sound good together. So at any point, all of your bowls are within 20 cents of one another.
For example, if you have a +40 bowl, any bowl between +40 and +20 will be in tune!
