If You Have Nothing Nice To Say, Just Practice.

I forgot to email you last week, because truly, I had nothing new to say…

After a very full week of teaching and practicing, my well of inspiring tid-bits had run dry.

And you and me both know, that when you’ve got nothing nice to say, it’s better not to say anything at all.

In the same vein, this week my teacher Bryn at Yogamaya shared some insight around how we start class.

She suggested that instead of sharing some long story that loosely references the practice, could our classes be more effective if we just began moving, chanting, or breathing?

Sometimes, what we really need isn’t another story about the practice (or another blog post about the practice) but the practice itself.

So without rambling any further let’s try something together…

Sit up tall in your seat.

Roll your shoulders down and back.

Close your eyes and take 5 deep breaths.

Once you reopen them, consider, what do you need right now?

A little stretch? A sip of water? 5 minutes away from your screen?

Consider this your formal invitation 💌 to take what you need.

Whatever’s got your attention can wait 5 minutes, I promise!

If you wanna try this yoga stuff with me in a bigger way, join me for class this week! I’m teaching sound a few times at Official Ritual, and yin on Thursday at Yogamaya.
