Most of the Things I Worry About Never Happen Anyway
This past week taught me a big lesson about worry and how life sometimes has a funny way of sorting itself out.
Here’s what happened:
I thought this weekend was going to be a lot. I was scheduled to teach a Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) module, and while I love teaching, the timing felt overwhelming.
Here’s what I was bracing myself for:
I had a busy week ahead and knew I’d have to cram to prepare my lesson plans.
I was scheduled to teach at 4 PM Friday, which meant a double session: 4–5 PM and 6:30–9:30 PM. That’s a lot of energy to expend at the end of an already packed week.
Worst of all, I’d have to miss my fiancé’s big comedy show on Saturday because I wouldn’t make it to the city in time.
I felt the tension building. I was stressed but trying to make peace with what I thought was my reality. Then, late Sunday night, I got a text from Melie.
“Oops, we messed up the schedule.”
Turns out, my Chakras module isn’t until next weekend. This weekend? Lindsey (not me, Lindsay!) is teaching the Ayurveda module.
I scrambled to check my calendar. And guess what? Next weekend is completely wide open. No Friday classes. No conflicting events. Plenty of time to prepare my lessons.
It felt like the universe had swooped in, rearranged my schedule, and whispered, “See? You didn’t need to stress so much.”
Obstacles were removed before my eyes. And I didn’t have to do anything.
This whole situation was a reminder of something I’ve learned (and re-learned) so many times: most of the things I worry about never even happen. All that energy I spent stressing over what felt like impossible hurdles could have been time spent trusting, relaxing, or even enjoying my week.
This isn’t to say we shouldn’t plan or prepare, but sometimes, life has a way of sorting itself out without us needing to push so hard.
If you’ve ever experienced a moment where the universe cleared your path, you’re not alone. These moments remind us to breathe a little easier, trust a little more, and maybe even let go of worry when it sneaks in.
So, how do you handle worry? Are you a planner like me, or do you embrace the flow and trust that things will work out? I’d love to hear your stories in the comments.
P.S. Here’s my go-to mantra for removing obstacles. Chant this invocation to Lord Ganesha for a little cosmic support with your troubles and watch things change before your eyes 🪄
