Video: My First ASMR Session at WhisperWave NYC!

Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting Becca, the brilliant mind and heart behind WhisperWave NYC, and she invited me to experience an in-person ASMR session at her studio in New York City — the first of it’s kind!

I'd never done anything quite like it before—and honestly, I didn't know what to expect, but from the moment the session began, I was completely captivated.

Becca is such a gifted practitioner and the atmosphere she’s created at WhisperWave is unlike anything I’ve experienced. The space is cozy, calming, and designed with intention to soothe every part of your being. ASMR—short for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response—isn’t just about tingles (although you might feel them!). It’s about reconnecting with your body’s capacity for deep rest and safety through subtle, sensory cues: soft brushes, back tracing, ambient soundscapes, and tender, nurturing touch.

As someone who works with sound and nervous system regulation every day, it was incredibly nourishing to be on the receiving end for once. I melted under Becca’s care—especially when she used sound instruments in combination with gentle touch. I didn’t just relax... I floated.

We even recorded a video during our session, where Becca gave me ASMR in real-time—and let me tell you, you can literally see how much I’m enjoying myself. Heaven! You can watch it on YouTube and experience some of that bliss for yourself!

And exciting news—Becca and I are planning a collaborative sound meditation and ASMR event here in NYC soon. Stay tuned for more details, but for now, let this video be your gentle invitation into the world of sensory wellness.

xoxo,
Lindsay
