The Angels are Close By: Asking for Signs & Receiving Them

It’s 7:54am and I’m writing to you from the Hackensack Hospital waiting room.

My mom’s getting a hip replacement this morning, which we’re choosing to see as a new lease on her single girl life 💃🏻

I slept on her couch last night, and early this morning we checked in to the surgery department.

While of course any procedure like this can stir up all the feelings, we’re both as relaxed as we can be.

We spent the day together yesterday getting pizza, 🍕 and she took a little nap in the car while I ran into the mall to buy her some new athleisure for her upcoming PT visits.

Don’t worry, I left the window cracked 🚗.

And as I sit here in the waiting room for the procedure to finish, I’ve been visited by 3 angels…

The first was Joyce, mom’s referring doctor 🩺, who’s name we had to write down on 100 forms.

The second, Jackie, the nurse 👩‍⚕️ who lovingly checked us in and put us at ease.

The third, Sean, 🏥 a patient in the waiting room whose name was called out just before mom’s.

If you know me, you’d know why these names are significant… Sean is my fiancé’s name, Joyce is his mom’s name, and Jackie is my partner in Bowl Club. 💞

What are the chances that all 3 of their names would be shown to me today?

Sure you can argue, that these names aren’t that uncommon, but I’m not here to argue with angels.

Now it’s 10:39am

Mom is out of surgery, with her new bionic hip!

Between dreams, she awakens with her usual sense of humor, already making all the nurses laugh and handing out life advice left and right. 🥲

Of course, her new nurse Gabby is also Colombian, so they already bonded over that.

And just now, the Physical Therapist, Mike, said he’s born the same day as her, 12/29 just two years apart, and then she gave him a mini numerology lesson. 🤣

I can’t make this shit up lol.

If you’re still reading this, here’s your weekly reminder that there are no coincidences, and all the signs, and guides you’re looking for are closer than you think. 😇

This week, look out for a Leslie, or Lindsay, on your path. We’re right there, walking with you, with hips that don’t quit.
